About us

The Chamber of Court Appointed Interpreters and Translators of the Czech Republic was established on 16th October 1996. Its main purpose is to create favourable conditions for the performance of interpreting and translating within the boundaries of the law and the implementation decree of the Ministry of Justice, as amended. The Chamber is actively working with the Ministry of Justice in preparing a new law on forensic experts, interpreters and translators, so that this law creates real improvement and insures a higher quality of existing legislative regulation. We hope to ensure that the office of the court appointed interpreters and translators not only remains a vital institution for individuals and businesses dealing in legal matters, but also can establish itself as a reliable safeguard within the constantly growing community of international authorities.
